This is our last week of school before Winter Break!
With the excitement of Winter Break coming up and the various activities PLE has going on the last couple days this week, things are bound to get a tad more hectic at pick-up and drop-off this week. Please help all of us at PLE (parents, teachers, staff and students) and our surrounding community have a stress-free end of the week and start of Winter Break by being extra patient and courteous at pick-up and drop-off toward other parents, our 5th grade crossing guards and our staff!

Holiday Night Celebration!
Join us to learn about the different holidays celebrated by our community! Share your own special holiday by bringing your favorite food, activities, dances, decorations, posters, games, etc, for everyone at PLE to enjoy and celebrate! The holiday doesn't have to be in December, just your favorite one to share (examples include Eid, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Hanukkah, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Japanese New Year, etc!).

Music: We are looking for music for the evening! We would love your favorite songs from your favorite holidays to play during the event. Anything in a digital format (Mp3, anything from your phone, computer, etc) is preferred. If you have a song in mind, but don't have a digital copy, send an email to Kim Lustig with the name of the song and artist.
Please email your songs to Kim Lustig (kbbenja@yahoo.com) by Friday, December 14th.
If you have a dance or performance that your family would like to perform or teach others, please let Kim know as well.

ATP Committee Survey
The Action Team for Partnership (ATP) Committee would like to continue to meet the needs of our Phantom Lake Elementary community by offering relevant and engaging community forums and learning events.

Come to the gym on Friday, December 21st at 2:10 for a Winter Sing-A-Long assembly at PLE! The Assembly will go from 2:10-2:50.

December/January Math Challenge
The December/January Math Challenge is out! Your child should have come home from school this last week with it via kidmail. The challenge is due at the end of January - it's a great activity to do with your student/s during Winter Break! Multicultural Night Performance Requests
All of our students & families benefit from experiencing traditions and cultures different than our own. Our Multicultural Night team are curious to know if we have any families that would like the opportunity to showcase a traditional dance or other performance during the evening's events.
If you are interested, please send a brief description of the performance (dance, song, etc), the country of origin, and a brief description of the significance of the performance to Melissa Kumar at mjdkumar@gmail.com or the PTA at phantomlakepta@gmail.com. Please include an estimate the number of minutes the performance will take.
To help in firming up the plans for the event, please respond by Wednesday, Dec. 19th.
