Family Third Thursday

This week on Thursday, March 21st from 8:40-9:30am! Parents, grandparents, siblings are welcome to come experience an hour of your students' classroom! All visitors need to sign-in at the front office and get a visitor sticker. There will be coffee and tea available in the front office as well.

Meet & Greet With PLE Staff!

Next Thursday, March 21st at 9:35, immediately following Family Third Thursday, there will be an opportunity to learn about members of the Phantom Lake team that you may have heard about from your child or may have seen in the hallway but have not had the opportunity to meet. There will be time to hear about what they do here at Phantom as well as ask them questions.

Please stop by room 105 (Kindergarten hall) and meet:

-Alysia Carey, Phantom Lake’s school counselor

-Matthew Pennewell, our English Language Learning Facilitator

-Krysta French, one of two Literacy Facilitators at PLE.  Krysta job-shares with Laura Fujii, who doesn’t work on Thursdays, but Krysta will share some information about Laura during this time.

We will have coffee and some light breakfast items available!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for a few people to help with decor for the school auction - Mardi Gras theme! Any help would be appreciated! Please contact Melissa Gray at graymis@gmail.com.
Student Donations

Like last year, we are asking students to bring in items we can use for gift baskets to auction off. We would love to be able to increase our budget for school supplies, grants, classroom resources and field trips next year, and to do that we need everyone's continued support! You can contribute to ANY grade's basket, not just your own. This is a great place to donate gift cards you are never going to use, or even new items that you never got around to using!

Kindergarten - Seattle Sports

1st Grade - Birthday Party Sleepover

2nd Grade - Gardening

3rd Grade - Outdoor Fun

4th Grade - Cooking

5th Grade - Camping
It's not too late to donate to the Spring Auction!

We are still hoping for donations of a timeshare or vacation home stay to auction off. Do you have a place you can donate for a few days?!

Other donation ideas include: babysitting, services, wine, airline miles, theater/sport/event tickets, unused gift cards ... we will take most anything!

Please email Jessa Teel at jessicamteel@gmail.com or phantomlakepta@gmail.com!

A HUGE thank you to all our donors, especially our main sponsors! Simma Restoration Group, LLC, EraGem, Lake Hills Orthodontics, and Ted Mansfield Group Real Estate.

On March 26, 2019, the Community Engagement committee (a joint venture of the Bellevue Schools Foundation, PTSA, and Bellevue School District) would like to offer a lite lunch and program to educate parents about the different programs, as well as the difference between programs, that are available for Bellevue School District Students. The following programs will be discussed:  Advanced Learning, AP (Advanced Placement) and IB (International Baccalaureate), AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), CTE (Career and Technical Education) and WANIC (Washington Network for Innovative Careers), Dual Language—Spanish, Dual Language—Mandarin and the International Spanish Academy.  This is a great opportunity to get all the information you need in one place and make sense of it all.  Lite lunch provided on March 26th at 11:30 and program from 12:00-1:00.  Sign up today here. The event will be held in the Rainier Room at WISC, 12241 Main Street, Bellevue WA.

FRENCH and SPANISH SUMMER CAMPS IN JULY:

The City of Bellevue and ParisAcademy Northwest are offering SUMMER CAMPS at the BELLEVUE HIGHLAND PARK AND COMMUNITY CENTER in July 2019.

The City just opened enrollment for the camps and they are divided into Week1, Week2, AM and PM. For each language, you have 4 options that you can choose to sign up for one, two, three or all four. There will not be a waiting list and each camp will have maximum 20 students capacity. It is first come first served.

Teen volunteer opportunity:

Teens (13-18 yrs) can apply for Internship/Volunteer opportunity through formal volunteer application. High school students and Teens with FRENCH or SPANISH language ability have priority.

Adult volunteer opportunity:

If you have signed your student for summer camp and would like to be volunteer,  opportunities through formal city of Bellevue Volunteer process will be available.  We would prefer volunteers who have FRENCH and/or SPANISH language knowledge and of course all volunteers need to pass City background checks.

Scholarship and resident discount:

Bellevue Residents have slightly lower rate due to city program policy.  Also Scholarships are available through Bellevue Parks and Community Services.  You could contact Highland Community Center for direction on Scholarship applications.
